Saturday, September 14th at the 21st annual SEPL Foundation Reverse Raffle and Auction, the SEPL Foundation presented Kim Ohl with the Jett & Lillian Mohr Service Award. The SEPL Foundation established the award in 2014 to be presented annually at the reverse raffle and auction. Its purpose is to recognize an individual or group who has significantly supported the Seneca East Public Library or the SEPL Foundation. Learn more about the award HERE.

The SEPL Foundation is raffling the 2019 American Girl Doll of the year, Blaire Wilson. Tickets are now available for purchase at the library for $5.00 each. The raffle also includes the doll, her lamb, a brush, a handmade basket and bedding, three outfits, and a pair of boots. The drawing will be held September 14th at the Foundation's Reverse Raffle. Need not be present to win.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. Celebrate National Library Week by giving back! Each non-perishable food item donated between April 8 - 13 equals $1 (up to $10) toward overdue library fines! Donated items will be distributed to area food pantries.

The Seneca East Public Library Foundation is sponsoring a Valentine's Basket Raffle. Win one of two baskets containing the following:

Take a spin on "Santa's Prize Wheel" when you check out December 19th through 22nd. Spin to win a prize from our goodie box, a "Get Out of Fines Free" coupon (good for fine forgiveness up to $25 any time from December 19 2018 through December 31, 2019) or an entry for a $25 Barnes & Noble Gift Card! Limit one spin per patron per day. 

We are now accepting entries to our sixth annual Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest. To participate, decorate a pumpkin as your favorite book character using paint, markers, glue, fabric, paper or other craft or household items…be creative! Please no carving or puncturing of pumpkins since they will be on display in the library. Bring your finished pumpkins to the library no later than 8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 and fill out an entry form including your name, age, phone number as well as the character’s name and the book from which it comes.
